Environmental issues and protecting our environment concern us all, whether we live here or are visiting on holiday. That is why, in the Le Corbier ski resort, we are committed to working together to adopt simple everyday habits and implement larger-scale initiatives.<\/p>\n

We only have one planet, and there is only one Le Corbier: our goal is to protect them both so that we can continue to come together, year after year, winter after winter and summer after summer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Waste sorting and recycling in the resort<\/h4>

Public sorting points for household waste and recyclable materials (glass, plastic, paper\/cardboard) are available at the foot of each building in the resort.<\/p>

A waste collection centre is available for both professionals and individuals. Further information is available from SIRTOM<\/a>.<\/p>

Several dog waste bag dispensers are available throughout the resort.<\/p>

A composting facility was installed in Villarembert in 2019, near the waste bins behind the Town Hall.<\/p>

Green spaces<\/h4>

We favour perennial plants, which require less water.<\/p>

Around 250 trees have been replanted on the resort\u2019s slopes over a five-year period.<\/p>

Energy<\/h4>

All public lighting bulbs in the municipality have been replaced with LED lighting.<\/p>

During the off-season, public lighting is switched off between midnight and 5 am.<\/p>

All pipework at the swimming pool and Town Hall has been insulated to reduce energy loss.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Everyday actions<\/p>

All staff members are encouraged to adopt environmentally responsible habits in their daily work: saving energy, sorting waste, double-sided printing, reusing paper as scrap paper, etc.<\/p>

Meeting reports, schedules and communication logs are digitised.<\/p>

Staff are encouraged to carpool for meetings, visits and other journeys. A plug-in hybrid vehicle is available to staff.<\/p>

Batteries and used light bulbs are sorted and recycled.<\/p>

Cardboard is recycled.<\/p>

Our work equipment (computers, photocopiers, postage machines, etc.) is configured by default for double-sided printing, draft mode, standby mode and other energy-saving settings.<\/p>

Toners and cartridges are recycled by the IT department.<\/p>

Emails from the previous year are deleted.<\/p>

We limit emails whenever possible and favour telephone calls or instant messaging.<\/p>

A Google Drive has been set up to reduce the number of photos sent by email.<\/p>

Events and entertainment department<\/p>

Use of cups, cutlery and plates made from recycled cardboard.<\/p>

Partnership with Haribo<\/a>: one large delivery per year to reduce transport.<\/p>

Partnership with Pasquier<\/a>: products are collected directly from their premises, with trips coordinated alternately with La Toussuire to avoid both resorts travelling there at the same time.<\/p>

Workshops using recycled materials are organised, such as making cardboard Christmas trees, carnival masks and Valentine\u2019s Day hearts.<\/p>

We favour local partners for services in order to reduce travel distances and prioritise materials sourced within the department.<\/p>

Vehicle use is shared with the technical services, with a work schedule organised for winter and summer installations.<\/p>

Entertainment programmes are printed in carefully calculated quantities according to shop opening periods and resort occupancy levels. Additional copies are printed on request at reception.<\/p>

Lighting is gradually being converted to LED, with priority given to companies using environmentally responsible technologies, such as Blach\u00e8re Illuminations.<\/p>

Events are organised with companies committed to sustainable development, such as La Grande Odyss\u00e9e Royal Canin and Agence LVO, which has digitised the registration process and introduced waste sorting at refreshment points and finish areas.<\/p>

Reception department<\/p>

Staff provide information about travelling to and around the area using public transport and soft mobility options.<\/p>

Staff also provide information about fragile natural environments.<\/p>

Paper displays are kept to a minimum. QR codes are used to allow visitors to download documents.<\/p>

Requests for brochures to be sent via the website have been removed. Documents are only sent following a direct request by telephone or email.<\/p>

Documentation is sent using the French \u201cLettre verte\u201d postal service, which is more economical and environmentally friendly, produces fewer CO\u2082 emissions and is delivered within approximately 48 hours.<\/p>

Communications department<\/p>

Visitors are encouraged to consult or download Tourist Office brochures via the website or QR codes.<\/p>

Brochures are printed by printers that comply with environmental standards, including Imprimerie Edelweiss. See their commitments HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

Stocks of brochures published by the Tourist Office are carefully managed to avoid waste.<\/p>

Partner documentation is ordered in appropriate quantities based on consumption in previous years, using a stock management table.<\/p>

Our publications include the wording \u201cDo not litter\u201d.<\/p>

Environmentally responsible email signatures have been introduced.<\/p>

The new website has been eco-designed by our service provider, Teaminfo<\/a>.<\/p>

New HTML email signatures are 10 to 20 times lighter and avoid systematically sending image files. Sending 10 emails can therefore save up to 70 g of CO\u2082, equivalent to approximately 500 metres travelled in a petrol or diesel car.<\/p>

Activities and Kids\u2019 Club<\/p>

KIDS\u2019 CLUB<\/p>

Internal information is shared via digital tools such as WhatsApp and Drive.<\/p>

The Kidizz application is used to share information and photos with families.<\/p>

Cleaning and hygiene products meeting sustainable development standards are used.<\/p>

Use of the dishwasher and washing machine is kept to a minimum.<\/p>

Guests can register online or by email, with a new online booking system introduced for winter 2025\u20132026.<\/p>

QR codes are used to share information.<\/p>

Printing of activity programmes is kept to a minimum.<\/p>

Recycled and reused materials are used for arts and crafts whenever possible.<\/p>

Children are introduced to environmentally responsible practices through workshops organised internally by activity leaders using educational materials, through external sessions with SIRTOM, and during guided outings with mountain leaders.<\/p>

Food waste sorting was introduced for winter 2025\u20132026 in partnership with SIRTOM Maurienne, with a food waste caddy and a dedicated access-controlled bin in the resort. General recycling was already in place.<\/p>

ACTIVITIES<\/p>

Registrations and participant lists are shared via Drive. No paper copies are printed, as activity leaders consult registrations directly online.<\/p>

QR codes are used to communicate information.<\/p>

FAMILLE PLUS<\/p>

Promotional items have been redesigned since 2023 to comply with sustainable development principles, including reusable cups and recycled packaging.<\/p>

The \u201cRandos de Max\u201d booklets are printed by printers that comply with environmental standards, including Imprimerie Edelweiss.<\/p>

Nursery<\/p>

A QR code has been created for the flyer.<\/p>

Guests can register online thanks to the new booking system introduced for winter 2025\u20132026. Registration forms can also be sent by email to reduce paper use.<\/p>

Waste sorting is in place, along with a composting bin provided in partnership with SIRTOM Maurienne.<\/p>

The main room is heated reasonably, to no more than 20\u00b0C.<\/p>

Disinfectant products are purchased with reusable spray bottles.<\/p>

Laminated sheets are used to share information with families about attendance, meals, nappy changes, naps and observations. They are wiped clean each evening and reused the following day.<\/p>

Only one large order is placed for consumable products, excluding fresh products.<\/p>

Paper scraps, scrap paper, glass and cardboard are reused for various activities.<\/p>

Washable cotton gloves and towels are used in the changing room.<\/p>

Use of the dishwasher and washing machine is kept to a minimum.<\/p>

A spray cleaner has been purchased to reduce water consumption during cleaning.<\/p>

Other Tourist Office initiatives<\/p>

Say no to cigarette butts on the slopes!<\/p>

Pocket ashtrays are available from the Tourist Office for \u20ac2 (cost price).<\/p>

Pollution caused by cigarette butts discarded in nature is far from negligible. A single cigarette butt can pollute 1 m\u00b3 of snow, which can then contaminate rivers and groundwater when the snow melts.<\/p>

According to the Mountain Riders association, up to 7,000 cigarette butts per day can be found beneath a single chairlift in mountain areas.<\/p>

Clean Mountain Challenge \u2013 Summer 2023<\/p>

Help Max des Neiges clean up the mountains!<\/p>

Up to 10% reduction in energy consumption<\/h3>\n

The Les Sybelles ski area uses exclusively green energy and has chosen new low-speed motor equipment that consumes less electricity, combined with eco-driving practices.<\/p>\n

Thanks to equipment that provides better control over water use and artificial snow production, Les Sybelles has reduced its artificial snow production by 20%, resulting in a 10-point reduction in water consumption.<\/p>\n

Grooming: 21% fewer operating hours<\/h3>\n

The use of low-speed-engine grooming machines, eco-driving practices and Scan-Sat technology makes it possible to measure snow depth on each slope and adapt grooming operations accordingly.<\/p>\n

The result: 21% fewer grooming hours over a season and reduced fossil fuel consumption.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
