The tourist tax contributes to the development and promotion of tourism in the resort. As a furnished accommodation provider, you are responsible for collecting the tourist tax from your guests and paying it to the Town Hall.
It must be collected throughout the year, including outside the main tourist seasons. You can declare it weekly, monthly or seasonally. The declaration deadline is 30 June for the winter season and 31 December for the summer season. Declarations can be made online or on paper.
For further information, contact the tourist tax department on +33 (0)6 73 71 98 27 or by email at servicetaxedesejour@mairie-villarembert.fr, or visit their website.
The person responsible for tourist tax is available in the Property Owners’ Area at the Tourist Office every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon. Feel free to come and meet them. 🙂
Why create a welcome booklet?
To make your guests’ stay more enjoyable, it is important to provide a welcome booklet containing all the information they need during their holiday.
This booklet is a mandatory criterion for obtaining the official furnished tourist accommodation classification and the Qualité Hébergement Corbier label.
In addition to information about your accommodation, the booklet should include details about places of interest and things to discover in and around the resort.
It also helps answer many of the questions guests may have when they arrive: Where is the nearest restaurant? What can I do in the resort during my stay? How does the microwave work? Your guests will find all the answers in the booklet without needing to contact you.
Below you’ll find our guide to help you create your welcome booklet, along with useful documents to include.

As you know, accommodation photos are extremely important when customers are searching for a holiday rental!
95% of people viewing a rental listing spend around 20 seconds looking at the first photo, and 40% say their choice is influenced more by the photos than by the description or rental price. Some people do not even check the price if they do not like the first photo.
To avoid losing potential guests, good-quality photos are therefore essential.
The downloadable document below contains practical tips to help you take successful photos.
